Q & A

When are RSVPs due and do I have to mail in my RSVP?

We will be mailing out formal invitations in the next couple of months, which will include RSVP info, plus one info and meal selections. Stay tuned!

What is the easiest way to get to your venue?

Due to Lacawac Sanctuary being so remote, we HIGHLY encourage guests to book a room block at The The Radisson Hotel and take the free shuttle to and from the venue. This will help reduce the number of people driving on the dark roads late at night!

I prefer to drive to the venue, is there parking?

Yes! There is plenty of parking at the venue, just follow the signs to the reception and you will see two large parking lots, and one smaller parking handicapped parking lot next to the lodge.

Are there handicapped accommodations at your wedding venue?

Our ceremony will be taking place on the lake, which is down a narrow slope. If guests are in need of handicapped assistance, a car can be provided to shuttle guests to and from the ceremony location and the reception location. Lacawac does have 2 ADA accessible bathrooms on the premises, located next to the carriage house where our reception will be held. Our hotel, The The Radisson has ADA accessible rooms as well.

What is the attire for your wedding?

Cocktail attire. Our wedding ceremony & reception will be outside and woodsy! It can get cold up on Lake Lacawac, so please bring a jacket/cover/coat for when the temperature drops at sundown. We highly encourage wearing nice but comfortable shoes, as the terrain at the wedding is a bit rugged. Heels are not recommended.

This is an outside wedding/reception? What if it rains?

Luckily for us, The Lacawac Sanctuary has plenty of rain options! From the historic lodge and carriage house, to several large tents, in the event of rain, we have it covered!

This is an outside wedding. What is the temperature like in Lake Lacawac this time of year?

The weather really fluctuates this time of year. We went up this September to see what the weather would be like and one day it was 80 degrees, and the next 50 degrees. We recommend dressing for the summer and bringing jackets and pullovers for when the sun goes down and the temperature drops!

Are children allowed at the wedding?

We love your children, but due to space restrictions we cannot accommodate guests under age 18 on our wedding dayWe appreciate your understanding.

Are plus ones allowed at the wedding?

If "and guest" or your plus-one's name is written on your wedding invitation, you can bring someone.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Yes! There will be a cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception where guests can mingle, grab some hors d'oeuvres and drinks, snap photos and explore The Sanctuary! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all taking place in The Lacawac Sanctuary, but there is so much cool stuff to see, we hope guests can really use this time to enjoy the beauty of it all.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Guests will be able to make menu selections once the formal invites are sent out, but we will have stationary and passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and a buffet meal consisting of bread, salad, a beef/chicken/vegan entree option and vegetable/starch accompaniments. And of course, we will have wedding cake.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes! Guests will be given the option to order the vegan entree. For any guests with any other dietary restrictions, we will have a place for you to fill out on your RSVP and will be happy to accompany you!

Will there be an open bar?

Of course!
